Welcome to my website! I'm Aymen Achnine and I'm a Taekwondo athlete representing the Netherlands at international tournaments. Alongside my athletic career, I'm also a Master student of International Law & Global Governance at Tilburg University. Here, I share my journey—both on the mat and in the classroom—two worlds that constantly challenge and inspire me.

It takes years. Then it all happens at once...
Taekwondo is an Olympic sport centered on self-defense, with an emphasis on mastering various kicking and punching techniques. It is also one of the most diverse sports in the world, with athletes from all continents, competing at the highest level, and with equal participation from both men and women.
My journey began at the age of six, when I first discovered Taekwondo as a recreational activity. But it wasn’t until I was fourteen that my passion for the sport truly ignited. From then on, I transitioned from a hobbyist to a competitive athlete, joining the regional team for South Netherlands. That’s when I realized: elite sports are where I belong. By 17, I had fully committed, earning my first international medals. Since then, I’ve been giving 100% every day to reach the top and turn my Olympic dream into a reality.

Last Sunday the first sparring day was organized with the goal to realize as many practice matches as possible for the national team athletes. It was a very successful day with a number of international participants. This day is part of the preparation for the last two qualification tournaments (Sweden (May) and Luxembourg (June)).
